The more willpower your dietary regimen requires, the more drama you will have in your life. Willpower requires mental energy. The more willpower you need, the more that energy will be depleted. It may well affect other areas of your life quite apart from your diet.
That's why I'm convinced that sustainable eating plans are best in the long run.
