I tried to go 60 days on keto and I gave in. The friggin' Cinemark movie popcorn with the "butter" station killed me this weekend. I lost quite a bit but my lifts suffered, as well as my 5K split on the erg.
I am doing a 2hr on, 24hr off IF.
Start at say 10am on day1. Eat from 10-Noon and fast for 24hrs. Day2 you begin eating from Noon-2pm. Day3 from 2-4pm.... day 6 you eat from 8-10 and start the cycle over on day 7. Day seven will not be a 24hr fast.
Yesterday was day1 at 10am. Today I ate from Noon to 2pm at 800 sub-maintenance. I am just starting to feel the pangs now and am a bit adrenal. I took a couple valerian and 3mg melatonin.
I dropped from 252 to 236 on keto. I weighed in at 232 tonight. It's very hard for me to get under 220 at 6'3ish.
All you need to do is to once again start doing all the things that got you to 215. You've plateaued because your discipline dropped once you started traveling. Get back to lifting. Get back to basketball and soccer. And get back to keto. If you don't do it soon, your weight will explode back up before you know it. Don't let all of the effort you put into losing weight end up being lost because of temporary laziness.I am facing a hiuge wall in the 216-217 area trying to hit 210 as next step. My keto was so in and out thanks to 5-6 weeks travelling outside of U.S. and eating some damn good food. But to my credit I was 215ish end of June when travels started to I held on despite some great eating displays and cycling back into keto and then repeating haha. I have not done any lifting since I have been back and 1 outdoor soccer game so I am in need of a kick in the ass...hope to snap out of it soon.
This advice may have 25 cent value. If I may chime in with my 2 cents. (Ten cent value!)
The more willpower your dietary regimen requires, the more drama you will have in your life. Willpower requires mental energy. The more willpower you need, the more that energy will be depleted. It may well affect other areas of your life quite apart from your diet.
That's why I'm convinced that sustainable eating plans are best in the long run.
If you cannot commit long term, like years and years long term, your diet plan is likely to not only fail, but have you gaining back all the weight you lost and then some. Been there, done that. This on top of it being an unpleasant process. This advice may have 25 cent value. If you cannot commit long term, like years and years long term, your diet plan is likely to not only fail, but have you gaining back all the weight you lost and then some.
