But LV refers to my first gambling trip to LV as a kid.
I lost $800 on mine.
Chalk one up for another Prevagen moment now that you mentioned it.

Edit: It was $840 to be exact.
What did I have for dinner yesterday? No clue.

If you're not already impressed...

Full ride at Chicago three months after my 16th birthday -> full ride at Chicago for grad -> left to take a fellowship with stipend at UTA where I was involved in chemoresistant tumor models. And no, Chicago does not offer rides unless you're under the age of consent in the "Scientist in Training" program as they called it in the day.

WAIS 160. Stanford-Binet 155 in childhood at Joseph Sears School (poor resolution).

"Special Ops" at Sears School. Level 20-21 after 88 days. 1860 WPM at >90% comprehension (age 10).

Most important question, how much you squat, bench, and deadlift?

I feel for your situation. My dad was a tyrant but was an academic-elitist and would have disowned us had we not been over-achievers. I boarded in HS in Connecticut and that was a setback, academically. Lots of drugs.
My cousin's son, who was ADHD as kid, went to Loomis Chaffee, Windsor, CT. Does Commercial Real Estate in NYCity a long time now - challenging office leasing environment currently, to say the least.

The anecdotes are fun, a walk down memory lane, but offers no value add to the journal. I’ll offer the abridged version now as I have some down-time while traveling.

Pat and I did well on the first trip to LV playing Uston APC at Caesar’s. We got comped and stayed for the week. We had made many trips back to LV but on commercial flights. Made contacts with other teams of counters and worked on teams as counters and BPs. I don’t have a firm figure on my personal net from counting. Ironically, I have a handle on expenses as I always used my AMEX. All in, I probably didn’t net more than $50K. Just stupid spending at the time.

I finished undergrad and did the job fairs and alumni thing. Ended up at a large Chicago MMer. There is another handle on ET that was at O’Connor at the same time. I can’t recall if we ever met in person but he still posts here. Probably the best content on this site.

I was recruited for a gig in NY on an FX desk. I got into some trouble on the desk and left after less than a year. I flew back home to Chicago and my dad convinced me to take the FSOT and I sublet a place in Alexandria VA and passed the interview process and took my language course. Most open diplo-postings were in SA so Spanish it is, and I was near fluent anyway. Did my Cat1 language course.

I had postings in Colombia (Bogota and Barranquilla conagency) during the Escobar era. It qualified as DSSR500 hardship post so I booked 100% of my income and the differential. I did two posts in Europe and ran a radio truck. I was involved in providing docs to ground service personnel. I was injured on the job which essentially took me out of field work and I did my exit interview and flew home.

I went to grad school and spent years in various life science programs. Developed a life-long interest in cell-met (Q-cycle) and other small molecules (generally) in oncology (specifically). CCAs in chemoresistance; ubiquinone in chem-induced cardiomyopathy.

Both parents got sick (colon and breast cancer) and died within months of each other. I’d lost my interest in medicine or research as a career and gave up on the MD or PhD track.

Phone dealing made it difficult to trade until front ends became available. I started trading the Treasury vol-complex at the CBOT…

It’s good. I am likely only 30-50 off my bench PR. I don’t go to the hardcore gym anymore and can’t 1RM at home. I have a MiSmith machine for my wife but it’s not sufficient for 1RM as the sleeves are short for bumpers and the bar is 32mm.

I can do 8 reps with 360 on the silly Hammer Strength plate loaded incline bench. I have no idea how it relates to a flat bench number.
