What's the latest going on in the authoritarian DeSantisLand? Remember when DeSantis formed a committee of totally unqualified people to review text books. And they banned a calculus text book because it contained the bios of two black mathematicians (of course, the bios of the white mathematicians were OK).

Well now DeSantis has doubled-down and form ed a commission to ban books. Naturally this commission was formed effectively in secret and only includes right-wing nutcases.

I caught some of the debate live and also reviewed highlights. DeSantis did well. Crist also did well. This debate will not change anything in the trajectory of the Florida governor race; neither candidate landed any type of "knock-out blow". DeSantis is still favored heavily to win in the the polls and betting sites. He has about a 94%-95% chance of winning the race according to most of the information.

The best debater I’ve seen so far has surprised me: Tim Ryan. He smashed Vance. He didn’t impress me in the presidential debates, but he came out at Vance swinging while other Democrats have looked kind of weak. That’s what you got to do when you’re the dog. Trump won OH by a large margin so I still think he’s an underdog, but it’s impressive how he’s doing in the polls with DeWine being up by a large margin.
