I base a lot of my opinions from feedback from my black personal circle which is large and black political associate circle which is very large due to the fact I have been volunteering for democrats since Obama in 2008.
Most blacks in my circle are taking the stance Im taking, not voting or volunteering for moderates like Biden but will support progressives like Kelly,Warnock ,Fetterman etc. That changes for them though when it comes certain GOP candidates that piss them off and Desantis pisses them off for reasons like this

To be sure, there is a lot of main stream media slant that pushes a very one-sided story against DeSantis for many of the reason I've stated ad naseam around here. But none of those articles (that I've seen) have shown any specific poll data. A search hasn't even shown what AA support DeSantis got in the last mid term election.
As for people you know, that's a fair pulse and its fine - but are you the type of guy who surrounds yourself with people who think differently to yourself or do you normally surround yourself with people who echo what you think?
You probably have a greater AA circle than I do - but I've got quite a few in my friend circle, and we're all Floridians. And while some find issue with DeSantis, most like the guy for what he did for Florida during COVID. Though I have not asked them anything about this latest media tirade.
