Maybe the right-wing media and clowns on social media should have listened carefully to what Fauci stated in his full comments rather than a single sentence. Since outlets rushed to take a portion of his comments and twist it as misinformation -- he came out with clarification of his comments to make everything crystal clear. Dr. Fauci was stating we were out of the "acute component" of the pandemic, not out of the pandemic.

Leading infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci this week walked back his comments that the U.S. is “out of the pandemic phase.”
“I want to clarify one thing,” Fauci told NPR on Wednesday. “I probably should have said the acute component of the pandemic phase, and I understand how that can lead to some misinterpretation.”
On Tuesday, Fauci told PBS NewsHour that "we are certainly, right now, in this country, out of the pandemic phase.”
"Namely, we don't have 900,000 new infections a day and tens and tens and tens of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths. We are at a low level right now. So, if you're saying, are we out of the pandemic phase in this country? We are," he said.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki also attempted to clarify Fauci’s comments on Wednesday.
“What Dr. Fauci was saying is that we are in a different phase of this pandemic, and that's absolutely true,” Psaki said. She added that “we also know COVID isn't over and the pandemic isn't over.”
The comments come as the Biden administration grapples with increasing coronavirus cases and hospitalizations during a time when many Americans are unwilling to reimplement mitigation measures like mask-wearing.
Fauci has been a lightning rod for criticism from Republicans and others who have opposed masking and vaccine mandates and questioned changing coronavirus guidance.
And the issue is growing closer to the White House, with Vice President Kamala Harris testing positive for the coronavirus this week.
The White House, however, defended its COVID-19 protocols. But risk concerns did prompt Fauci to back out of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner this weekend while Biden will no longer attend the dinner portion of the event.

The two-day poll completed on Thursday showed that 62% of Americans - including 68% of Democrats and 55% of Republicans - said they were less likely to back a candidate who supports going after companies for their views.
DeSantis signed a bill last week that strips Disney of self-governing authority at its Orlando-area parks in retaliation for its opposition to a new Florida law that limits the teaching of LGBTQ issues in schools. read more
For DeSantis, a rising star in the Republican Party, it was an attempt to bolster his conservative credentials as a culture warrior ahead of a possible run for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
But even when prompted along the lines of DeSantis' own argument for his action - that laws should remove benefits of government tax breaks from corporations that push a "woke" agenda - 36% of Republicans nationally said they would be less likely to support a candidate with such a view.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll still showed that DeSantis, 43, is a potential force in national Republican politics.
Presented with a list of prominent politicians, a full 25% of Republican respondents said DeSantis best represents the values of their party, second only to former President Donald Trump who was favored by 40% of Republicans. Texas Governor Greg Abbott garnered 9%.
But the poll also showed a nation deeply divided on how schools teach about sexual orientation and gender identity -- the subject of the controversial Florida law.
Half of U.S. voters support laws banning classroom discussion on sexual orientation or gender identity for children age 5-11, including 69% of Republicans and 36% of Democrats.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted online, in English and throughout the United States. It gathered responses from 1,003 adults and had a credibility interval, a measure of precision, of about 4 percentage points.
