DeSantis for the win

So obviously DeSantis has no answer on how he will cover the debt or the legal situation with eliminating the RCID. So much for his "brilliant planning" -- he has left the residents of Florida holding the bag on this one -- all to drive his political narrative for 2024 and to increase his out-of-state campaign contributions.

You said this before several times as well. So I'll answer you the same way there, too.

What I find amusing is that you keep assuming there is "no plan" just because GWB_trading isn't aware of the plan.

Not everything that is planned is shared with the public, dude! Grow a brain!

Get some new content, clown.

I remember when GWB_NPC was whining about Republicans in Florida redrawing districts in Florida.

I am against gerrymandering in every state... whether it is done by Democrats or Republicans. Especially now that modern GIS software allows partisan district mapping which creates biased districts with surgical precision to pre-determine election results.

The people are effectively not choosing their candidate. The party is effectively pre-determining the election results (by party) in many of the biased election maps.

Every state should require an independent commission to be appointed to determine election district maps.

Right, so you say. But is it gerrymandering when a party restores logic to the voting area from a previously messed up district?

That never happens --- if a other party comes into power they just gerrymander the districts in the opposite direction. North Carolina is a great example of this.

You should take a look at the redistricting that just occurred. Its not like its being made out to be. This site shows all the supporting data.

Thanks for the link.

There are some reasonable points to be made about the traditional black districts which were created previously (under court decisions). These districts are effectively a gerrymander. However the steps DeSantis has taken in his re-alignment are not to make things fair -- his purpose is the create as many Republican seats in the Florida as possible. To do so DeSantis had to eliminate these black districts which stood in the way of his gerrymander.

Most likely. All I'm saying is that going to a district map that is based on population, new census data, etc and undoes the stupidity of maps like the one posted above makes things better - no matter which party does it.
