DeSantis for the win

It said that in my post. I actually show a picture of the letter you're referring to.

Doesn't change the fact that this stuff is out there and being used. Or do you think that this is the only example in all of the country that this occurred at?

Anything being used is not some school movement to introduce CRT as Youngkin and DeSantis claim to scare stupid voters. You and your ilk claim repeated that the state and the school districts are putting this in their district or state wide curriculums. Your example proved that is not true, we have a teacher who went out on their own and got caught.

The Desantis and others cliche they are using to scare parents for elections is that school districts are introducing items into the curriculum which is proven not to be true as is the case here. It was not the State or the school district or even the school. It was a teacher who did it and got caught the materials were removed completely. The system worked. The narrative that this is being introduced because the State sponsored this in any way is false.

I agree it is in appropriate and so did the school, district and State.

Some of these books being taught in school aren't just math books, Ocho. This one, from Missouri. Folks like Spike are OK with this. I can't imagine you are.

Nobody is ok with this.... that is why the school district removed the materials immediately when it was found that a teacher WENT OUTSIDE THE CURRICULUM and downloaded the sheet online.

System in place worked!

I think they should make public the books being banned and the material they specifically objected to. It is not like politicians ever stretch the truth for political gain...

You would object if a Dem governor banned 71% of the books for k-5 without showing what materials they specifically objected to..

Simply saying sopmething is impermissible does not really equate with objective standards.

I wouldn't object at all if a Dem governor banned 71% of any books unless I first knew what books were banned. I certainly wouldn't do it on principle without the knowledge in advance.

I agree with moving away from Common Core education for mathematics. Common Core is turning out students who can't even count your change at McDonald's. I have stated numerous times over the past years that Common Core has been a fiasco and school systems must move away from it.

DeSantis merely took a movement that was underway already in Florida for over two years to move away from Common Core for math --- and twisted it to include CRT to drive his political narrative.

Unless I personally review every single text book one-by-one (which i am not going to do) then I cannot really comment on the DeSantis administration claims that particular math text books include CRT. I will note that there is at least one example of a math text book in Florida that was rejected which includes Common Core but nothing CRT related upon a review.

Even the press statement from the DeSantis administration attempts to stretch what is rejected to somehow include CRT for a rejection criteria by adding CRT to the end of sentences. For example -- "28 (21 percent) are not included on the adopted list because they incorporate prohibited topics or unsolicited strategies, including CRT." I expect that none of these rejected math text books include CRT whatsoever they only include Common Core strategies.

Ok, so on the subject of CRT, you agree. On the subject of the books themselves, you have no idea (because you haven't reviewed the books). On the subject of DeSantis crowing over it and doing what any politician would do to score points, you disapprove. I'd say that's a good view of your stance. Would you agree?

Really. Me and my ilk have made repeated claims to this, have we?

So basically there is no proof whatsoever that a single one of those math books contain CRT subject material. Would you agree?

I would. And there's no proof that there isn't. So you can't say there isn't, and I can't say there is. The Florida DoE said there is, so unless you've got proof otherwise, you really shouldn't say shit, right?

Yet -- no reviewer has found a hint of CRT in a single one of these math textbooks.

Not CRT, but related to Florida statute 847.012 Here are examples of books removed that violate the statute AND were in circulation (and the schools they were). Please let me know which book should not have been removed as examples of "Harmful Materials" to children. Remember, we were told this wasn't in schools. The first book alone "Two Boys Kissing" I don't need to read in order to get the meaning right off the bat.

Show me any reviewer that has the list. What's more, show me the list of the books.

To say "no reviewer has a found a hint" doesn't mean shit if no reviewer has actually even seen the list. The DoE in Florida reviewed, and they did.
