DeSantis for the win

Looks like DeSantis' favorite AFLD state surgeon general is also beloved by Tucker. Let's see Ladapo peddle more misinformation live on the air -- as cases in Florida quickly drive to new heights.

Tucker Pats Florida Surgeon General on Back as COVID Numbers Explode

Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show Thursday night and was praised for his state’s COVID-19 response—as Florida deals with an explosion of new cases from the Omicron variant.

After being hit extremely hard by the Delta variant over the summer, Florida eventually saw caseloads and deaths plunge during the fall months—prompting Gov. Ron DeSantis and Ladapo to justify and celebrate their hands-off approach to the pandemic. While criticizing highly vaccinated states like New York over their recent spike in new cases, Carlson lauded Florida for having “one of the lowest rates of COVID in the country” while rejecting vaccine and mask mandates.

At the end of the softball interview, which featured the two laughing as an on-air graphic blared “How Florida Is Handling COVID the Right Way,” Carlson offered up a closing thought: “I cannot wait until you run HHS. I will come to your swearing-in. Doctor, thank you.”

Meanwhile, COVID-19 cases are rising faster in Florida than in just about any other state, increasing 100 percent in the past two weeks compared to 40 percent for the rest of the nation, according The New York Times database. Drive-thru COVID testing sites in Miami have also experienced incredibly long lines in recent days.

Cases in Florida at "new highs"? What "new high" are we talking about? Highs for the last week or few weeks?

Its all the "plague rats" coming down from the north to snowbird in our lovely state.

"New Highs"

Of course... :)

Now, you want to talk about NEW HIGHS for real? Let's look at New York, where DeSantis is working his evil:

New jersey!

Illinois!

In fact, you'd be hard pressed to find a state in the North that ISNT having record cases.

But DeSantis!

Hell, it's almost like someone around here specifically said this would happen in the winter. Anyone remember?

And you'll see the spike again in the north during the winter. The virus is going to behave like a virus. We're inside in the summer, you guys are outside. We're outside in the winter, you guys are inside.

I remember when you called Florida the "epicenter" last summer. Before the winter when the North was the epicenter and you went quiet.

$100 says this happens again in a few months. any takers?

Its going to be an interesting fall and winter when you try to blame the spike in the north on DeSantis.

Just a few of the posts where I told you this precise thing would happen back when you were saying DeSantis was killing everyone in Florida. Where are all of your posts about how the governors of other states are killing their people, GWB_NPC? Can you link to those posts? Hell, you made one every single day in the summer about Florida and DeSantis!

Sorry I've been away - work has been crazy. Not all of us can claim we work for a software company and post all day, every day.

So lets see where we are, shall we?

Cases peaked last week, a few days later than I thought they would - but essentially on schedule. I had said here that Florida would peak on the 6th or 7th, and it looks like the actual peak will be around the 12th. How did I do this? Crystal ball? Nah. Real science, because it is the pattern the virus follows no matter whether you approach it bravely or with weeping and gnashing of teeth like the cultists.

This is, of course, because we're finally dipping below 1.0:

So expect the panic to subside, but the attacks to get more and more desperate (just reading the last few pages of GWB posts shows this).

So how about deaths? That's most important.

Yep, looks like the peak passed here as well. Remember all those posts about how we'd be up around 400-600 deaths per week? Me too. Thank God they were all horseshit from the usual purveyors of said excrement.

Bonus Chart: Highly mandated and controlled LA County vs. South Dakota (that did next to nothing and caught all sorts of flak for it).

Curve is nearly identical. Why? Because Virus.

But that doesn't allow you to throw rotten tomatoes at DeSantis and rally the sheep, so we can't talk about Science. We can only talk about sC1EnCe!!

Ok, I found your post. Note the following :

" Yep, looks like the peak passed here as well. Remember all those posts about how we'd be up around 400-600 deaths per week? Me too. Thank God they were all horseshit from the usual purveyors of said excrement. "

In reality you trended up to a peak of 400+ deaths per day.

You've spammed the board for two years with pronouncements on Covid using incomplete data, despite being warned by the data source and some of us that it was incomplete data. You've perpetually claimed various longer term forecasts were hopelessly negative and ignored the fact that many of them in fact came true given enough time. Nobody rational would claim Covid underperformed in terms of damage, especially in the US. Yet you continually do so on here and have no shame doing so.

You've recently denied numerous comments you made and asked others to go on a fishing expedition to find proof. If you were a smart guy you'd have remembered you said this the 400-600 is a very specific reference. Also note the comment you made in 2020 about Canada catching up to Florida in terms of Covid damage ( or something similar ) was very real too. But I'm not going to look for it. I told you Canada's approach to Covid would yield dividends and it did.

Thank you for providing the post. It would appear there was one week of a spike that got us to that area, so yes, the statement I made was incorrect. I would also say that I was wrong about when the peak occurred, it was one week after I stated - so I missed the mark on that as well.

As I said, I don't have a problem admitting when I've made an error and adjusting accordingly. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. You know, like pretending you're going to sue the owner of the site simply because people make fun of you online? I remember reading a post like that in the Feedback section. I'm sure I can find it. Or making a market prediction that turns out to be incorrect :)

But to say I've "spammed the board for two years with pronouncements on Covid using incomplete data" and to show one example out of a 1000 posts as proof of this is very hyperbolic, even for someone with a self-proclaimed "Mensa" level intelligence. Actually, especially for someone like that who should be smart enough to know better.

Please show me the comment I made in 2020 about Canada catching up to Florida in terms of COVID damage (or something similar) so we can be talking about the same comment. Because sometimes you just make shit up, unfortunately.

How did Canada's approach to COVID yield dividends?

You're having your highest cases EVER right now, and that is after militant COVID policy.

Florida had similar waves and it focused on freedom and rights of the individual.
