One in five COVID cases in the U.S. are now in Florida.
“Florida is recording more Covid-19 cases than any other U.S. state, as hospitalizations in some areas increase at the fastest rate since the start of the pandemic,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
“The state accounts for one in five new infections in the U.S. and logged 67,413 cases over the past week… Florida had 314 cases per 100,000 people over the past week, second only to Louisiana.”
"Hospitals are filling up again, even exceeding their pandemic high in Jacksonville and Daytona Beach. The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office said six employees were diagnosed with COVID-19 in one week, and the outbreak is causing a new sense of dread in the courthouse". Florida recorded more coronavirus cases this week than California, Texas, New York and Illinois combined. Florida also once again reported the wrong death count this week -- just another example of the DeSantis administration deliberately faking the data to cover up the COVID fiasco to suit his failed narrative.
That's kinda what happened last summer, and what I said back in May when I told you there'd be sunbelt spikes in cases like there was last year in June/July. Right here, remember:

Doesn't mean the end of the world. You've called for the end of Florida so often its become a cocktail joke.
So explain to us again why the DeSantis administration is not reporting the correct death data? What is he trying to hide?
Of course, he down talks COVID and claims it is not a problem at every opportunity. Just pushing his political narrative while undermining the health of people in Florida.
You go on about this kind of shit over and over. Been doing it for years. I don't know if its your way of trying to obfuscate or if you're just that dense.
I'll respond with the very same answers to this I always do.
1. Show proof he is intentionally reporting incorrect data.
2. Show me that the majority of other governors show this data correctly.
3. Deaths are still low, and this is the most important stat.
4. DeSantis' popularity is rising every day.
5. June and July and August are high months for COVID in the south.
End of story. Carry on with the shrieking and hysterics.

If the version of reality I live in is the one that requires you to back up your statements with evidence, then we can disagree which one is "alternate".
At this point you are just in denial like poster "Jem" and a few idiots like "Buy1Sell2". In terms of unnecessary deaths ( and likely long term illness cases ) Florida is running far too high for a nation where vaccines have been readily available for many months. It's kind of a running joke here how willfully stupid many Americans in your parts are concerning Covid.

Florida Excess Deaths vs.
Total US.
Given that the number of excess deaths for a given week timeframe (this is weekly data), we can see what % Florida contributes to the excess death amounts. For example, take the second peak (Jan 9th).
Total US excess deaths were 27,335 people in forecasted vs. expected. Of that, Florida was 1,191, or 4.3% of the excess deaths. Given that Florida's total population is 6.54% of the total US population, this would suggest that Florida is under represented in the excess death category.
So when you say that Florida is running "far too high" in the nation, the data would indicate you are completely and totally wrong. And pushing a narrative.
Your thoughts? I mean, if you've got any thoughts on the data presented. Not the usual silliness that comes out of your piehole.
