DeSantis for the win

So tell us how the statistics for recent weeks look. Florida is one of the five states cited for having out of control COVID currently and also has most of the variant infections in the U.S. TRAGIC.

Sadly Florida has also been the hub or infecting most other U.S. state with variants. For example the first 37 variant cases in North Carolina were proven to come from Florida (as outlined in the article posted earlier).

LOL

Another failed prediction. On Feb 27th, the following post:

Florida - #1 for highly infectious COVID variant cases in the country. Accounting for over 1/3 of the cases -- despite DeSantis deliberately hiding the variant data and not reporting it.

Good to see Florida number 1 in something.

Spring Break is coming soon. Enjoy!

On March 31st, 5 weeks later:

DeSantis' Florida -- not only #1 in under-reported deaths but #1 in COVID variants. The joy of being #1.

Then...

You've been parroting this for weeks. Death stats aren't getting any worse. Any reason why?

and...

Deaths lag infections by several weeks.

but...

Ah, so how many weeks should we have to wait before your prediction is another dud? I've asked you this before, incidentally and you've always been hesitant to answer - because you know you're on the hook for another failed prediction if it does not happen.

Several is three or maybe four. Three weeks? Four weeks?

Turns out...

At the beginning of the pandemic the average time between the first positive COVID test and death was only 2 to 3 weeks because most people only got tested at the hospital admission door due to the shortage of COVID tests. Now that COVID tests are plentiful and it is easy to get tested -- most people get tested well before they land up in the hospital. There are also improved therapies and drugs being used in hospitals (which also reduced the death rate). The average length of time between the first positive COVID test and death has now increased to 6 or 7 weeks.

increased to 6 or 7 weeks.

Here we are, 8 weeks later.

So everything I stated about Florida turned out to be true. Thanks for confirming.

Maybe DeSantis can start reporting the variant data like other states, the complete COVID death count rather than under-reporting it, and stop using an unscientific state formula for positivity rate.

If by true, you mean completely and totally fucking wrong, then yeah, you were right. The deaths and carnage you expected - never came to be.

A state that has more COVID deaths each day than entire other countries with much greater populations. This is your example of success. What a fiasco.

Can you show your math comparisons? Florida vs....?

I'd just like to understand what you're referring to (despite saying you can't compare this to that from the past)...

Let me state that comparing florida to countries which are Islands and have the authority and jurisidiction to seal their borders is not a useful comparison..

and south korea is essentially the same as an island because its border to the north is sealed.

Try comparing COVID deaths in Florida to Canada -- you keep criticizing Canada, but with a population that is more than 50% greater than Florida's it has lower daily deaths.
