So this is interesting. From the AARP Dashboard in your second link (you have to go find it, of course, it isn't readily provided, and the data isn't either).

Now this part we never hear about. Florida data has been falling for Nursing Home deaths AND cases vs. the national average. If the actions DeSantis is taking are so horrible for nursing homes, how can this be?

Staffing shortages and PPE equipment shortages seem to be considerably less than the national average. and they have been since the beginning of August, according to this data. But didn't you - GWB - tell us there were shortages? I'll have to go back and check this thread to be sure.

Staff COVID cases have dropped below the average as well.

The Republican governor of Maryland is taking the correct action to protect the vulnerable in nursing homes in his state as COVID case, hospitalizations, and deaths are rising. Why do you have a problem with this? Is it wrong to protect the vulnerable?

Of course it isn't! Don't be silly.

But you have a hard on for going after DeSantis, so you should be able to show that his actions are having a deleterious effect on the Nursing Home population like you claim. But the data isn't showing this at all! So...how does that work again?

If you're going to say a governor is harming his citizens - intentionally by your silly claim - then you have to show they are being harmed. If you can't, at least if you can't show the data being worse than other states, then you have a bit of a quandary, don't you.

Yes -- Madison Cawthorn was elected to represent the 11th Congressional District deep in the western mountains of North Carolina. A lot of the district does not have running water and indoor toilets. The current map of the district makes it one of the most impoverished, white, and conservative districts in the country.

If you think that Madison Cawthorn is a bit "off" --- wait till you see the Republican state legislators that this mountain area sent to Raleigh in recent years. Comparatively they make Madison Cawthorn look sane.

A national COVID “dashboard” released Wednesday by AARP shows that the death rate of Florida nursing-home residents over a recent four-week period exceeded the national average.

The AARP online site, which looks at nursing-home data for four weeks ending Sept. 20, shows that 1.38 of every 200 nursing home residents in Florida died from COVID-19. Nationally, about one out of every 200 nursing home residents died from COVID-19.
