The virus is certainly going to re-surge across the U.S. - since many states are not taking appropriate public health measures to curtail COVID spread. Even the states that take appropriate measures will experience a resurgence due to travel, a lack of contact tracing, and inadequate testing. All of this is inevitable. The primary issue is that states failing to take proper public health measures will suffer worse both medically and economically than other states. The residents of states that have been less than transparent with COVID data for political purposes will suffer the most.
The real underlying issue is a lack of a nationally coordinated plan to address COVID - which is critical to improve public health in this crisis. Every state went in its own direction without any type of national coordination or leadership.
Of course, Trump never said that, just as the numerous other things that Leftists attribute to him that are false.
Its hard to say. Trump says he didn't say it, so there's that. But the man hasn't exactly been honest about everything he has said or didn't say - even when it is previously recorded.

The Martin County teachers union president says teachers under quarantine should not be forced to return to their school buildings to continue instruction.
Ninety students and six teachers at South Fork High School are now under quarantine after a student experienced symptoms of coronavirus. This latest exposure comes after some students at J.D. Parker Elementary School, Hobe Sound Elementary School and SeaWind Elementary School were possibly exposed to the virus, and told to quarantine. At least 150 students total are now under quarantine following these possible exposures, which have all occurred within the first week of school.

“All District employees are considered essential according to the guidelines issued by Governor DeSantis in Executive Order 20-91. In accordance with CDC guidelines for essential workers, essential employees may be asked to report to work to maintain staffing for critical services as long as they are not experiencing any symptoms of illness. Education of students is considered an essential service by the Governor."

Sort of sad when these teachers can easily teach from home.

Teachers in "quarantine" are simply teachers who "may have been exposed". I just went out to lunch. I "may have been exposed" to a virus which won't kill me, won't kill anyone in my family. Send them back to work. The word is out, we know who this virus goes for and it isn't kids and it's not most teachers.
Get on with your life.

The teachers and students in the classrooms that have been exposed are supposed to be quarantined for 14 days. In nearly every other state this means that the teacher will teach the class remotely and the students will learn remotely for two weeks. However in Florida they want a potentially infected teacher to come into school to provide virtual lessons -- potentially exposing other teachers & students to the virus. It makes far less sense than having the teacher provide lessons from their home virtually.
In communities doing proper Contact Tracing -- exposure to a person who tested positive means that a person should not leave their home for 14 days. For example, in Durham County N.C. the health department will call you every day fr two weeks to ensure you are staying home if you have been exposed to COVID.

Florida is not in the right position to have in-person learning safely. They are just starting to come off of a peak, delaying for a couple of weeks would have made a world of difference.
The Florida seven-day average of positive test percentage is 9.13%. The standard being followed in the U.S. is that the positive test percentage seven day average should be below 5% before school is opened or students on-premise in a community. Some state standards use a 14 day average of positive test rates, and New York state uses a 3% threshold of positive tests.
