Deaths are a lagging indicator.

If we want to take any action, it is best if we do it based on expertise, before it even shows up in the leading indicator. If we are not smart enough to do that the next best option is to do it based on what the leading indicator says. If we are dumb enough to ignore that also, we will end up just counting bodies and pointing fingers. Yes, case statistics should be understood. As regards quality of indicator, death counts data have a higher quality than case count (except in China and Florida where there is data manipulation)

I agree wholeheartedly that cases are a leading indicator and deaths a lagging one. But how long do we have to wait until we see deaths follow suit? You've still never answered this. Is the answer "as long as it takes to have deaths??"

If you followed this thread from the beginning, I was having the "just wait, deaths are coming" argument with gwb since May 26th.

As for data manipulation in Florida, I've not seen you prove this yet. If you're going to take the stance of "I don't like what the data is saying, therefore it is manipulated" then I can draw a lot of parallels to silly accusations from both sides of the political spectrum.

If accurate, then this would be the reason for shutting down the sites - to move to a more efficient model. Please note that I'm saying "If accurate", because that is what the statement says. I know, Trump is stupid, we're all in a cult, blah blah blah....

I prefer understanding both sides of the argument before passing judgment. But then, I don't suffer from TDS.

No, I didn't take my hydroxychloroquine today. It was out at my local pharmacy and I didn't get my weekly mailer. Maybe they found out I'm not a full cult member

That isn't at all what DeSantis is saying, and is just the latest example of you making up stuff. What he said was "“If you can’t social distance, it’s recommended to wear a facial covering,” DeSantis said Saturday. “We’ve just got to trust people that give ’em the opportunity to do the good things, make good decisions. I think that that tends to work better than to mandate this, mandate that.”

He also said that enforcing a mandatory mask requirement wouldn't be realistic, which is also echoed by sheriffs at the local level. Still, most metro areas in Florida now have a mask requirement, which is fine with DeSantis (he has thrown his support behind municipalities making their own decisions on masks).

These are the facts. I know they don't align with your cult narrative, so I'm sorry if that offends you.

It is exactly the difference between a mandate vs, - I think you should do it if you want to, I will recommend. That is exactly what has been studied. Conclusion is that mandates work. Desantis refused. You as a fanboi of DeSantis go with him when he says it doesn't work. Scientists who studied it says it does (no I am not sending you a link on that, google it)
