DeSantis for the win

1. just google ICU beds florida.
2. You are a liar and if I had seen this side of you I wouldn't have wasted my time debating with you
3. What is your point?

Wow.... this shiat from the DeSantis administration is totally F'ed up. More deliberate hiding of data. Trying to make stats look good before the July 4th weekend by having the DeSantis administration demand the under-reporting of information.

Florida changing the way ICU beds are reported
State wants hospitals to report only number of patients receiving 'intensive level of care'

As coronavirus cases continue to rise, Florida has stopped tracking how many COVID-19 patients are in ICU beds

  • The state of Florida announced Tuesday that it won't be tracking the number of coronavirus patients in ICU beds.
  • The change comes as coronavirus cases in the state are on the rise.
  • One data scientist who helped build Florida's coronavirus tracker linked the move to a larger effort to make it look like the state's situation is improving ahead of the July 4 holiday.
  • The state said it's an effort to better track the more serious cases.

Tsing Tao is one of the resident dumb asses on here who looks the virus clearly in the eye and says go ahead do your worst I'm not concerned at all. Unfortunately, this is exactly the kind of person who also spreads the disease rather easily to others. This whole notion that infection stats don't matter is one the most ignorant theories we've ever seen on this site. And as the US numbers get worse, these posters don't even take pause to reconsider their ideas they just carry on like nothing matters.

It’s total selfishness. Large portions of Florida will feel the effects. I’m in the northeast and in a nice neighborhood.never hear emergency sirens where I live then Covid hit and it became pretty regular for a while.

They’re going to feel it and they’re going to regret it.

1. So you can't show me any link, but tell me to go google to find the comment you claimed he said.

2. I'm a liar? Allow me to show you one example where you said something DeSantis didn't say:

So, even De Santis is now saying the Florida situation is out of control.

Then I ask:

Can you link to where he said it was out of control? I didn't see that article.

And you reply:

Why the quotes? I never quoted DeSantis saying that. I did infer that DeSantis has changed his tune. That he has.

And now you're calling me a liar. That's rich! You probably shouldn't "waste time" debating with me, because I plan to ask you to back up your statements, as I'd expect you would do the same to me. So save us both time and run off?

3. My point is this: You stated "DeSantis has asked hospitals to report ICU beds as unused IF the care is not "intensive" enough even if the patient is in the ICU!!!." and provided a link (whether related or not I am unsure). I asked you to show me where he said that because it wasn't in the link you posted. You then ask me to go google and find it. Again, I call bullshit unless you can provide the proof.

It's coming. Any. Day. Now.

DeSantis said resuming elective surgeries has reduced the number of ICU beds available.
I could see how that would be the case. Rather logical.

Rivkees notes that some hospitals have COVID-19 wards within intensive care units and are reporting all COVID patients as ICU patients, even though they may not all require the same level of care.
So Covid wards are all in ICUs, but some don't require intensive care. I would think we'd want to separate this for an accurate reading as they could be relocated if they had to be.

Texas isn't in crisis for beds yet, it's the trend that looks really scary. It's not just more testing, the positivity rate is up as well.

Yeah, I've not been following Texas all that closely so I can't comment in an informed manner. But I will admit the bed situation looks a little scary. Though I posted this earlier:

The question that is on my mind is whether Texas and Florida are experiencing a second wave faster than other states because they opened up earlier, and other states will experience it anyway in the fall. The hypothesis being that whenever a state opens up, it's going to experience higher cases. There are some mitigating factors (like masks, etc) that might help, but to insinuate we should all be in lockdown until there is a vaccine is just insane.

Well I can tell you the Dallas area, it's because once it opened up, no one wears a mask, it's 10% at best. Where as talking to my friend in NJ he tells me it's almost 100% there.
