Do you believe that teaching elementary school students anything that mentions the word gay is the same as grooming the students and that anyone against the bill is a pedophile?
Yes or No.
and BTW -- I have provided my perspectives on only providing "sex education" in school in a manner that is age appropriate many times in the past. Pre-K students should not be getting lessons on sex ed. But this guidance on only providing sex ed in an age appropriate manner is already in federal & most state guidelines. Tell us why the Florida "Don't say gay" law is needed. Hint: It's not -- it is merely DeSantis posturing for his 2024 campaign.
So, just for the record, you won't answer my question yes or no, but want me to answer yours. As expected. If you cannot say you don't support providing sexual identity and education to Pre-K students, then you obviously do support it. Which confirms a lot of things. Its a simple thing, NPC. You just say "I don't support that" or "I support that". Why you are unable to simply answer questions proves you're pushing a narrative.
But I'll be the bigger man (I always am) and answer your question.
Do I believe that teaching elementary school students anything that mentions the word gay is the same as grooming students and anyone against the bill is a pedophile? No. Those are distinctly different things and if you don't support the bill you are not necessarily a pedophile - just a liberal pushing a narrative. But those are two separate questions,
and not at all what the bill is about. Only critics of the bill call it "Don't Say Gay" bill. See the Hill:
Here is what the bill entails, directly from the Florida House website:
Parental Rights in Education: Requires district school boards to adopt procedures that comport with certain provisions of law for notifying student's parent of specified information; requires such procedures to reinforce fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children; prohibits school district from adopting procedures or student support forms that prohibit school district personnel from notifying parent about specified information or that encourage student to withhold from parent such information; prohibits school district personnel from discouraging or prohibiting parental notification & involvement in critical decisions affecting student's mental, emotional, or physical well-being; prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels; requires school districts to notify parents of healthcare services; authorizes parent to bring action against school district to obtain declaratory judgment; provides for additional award of injunctive relief, damages, & reasonable attorney fees & court costs to certain parents.
So the bill:
1. Requires parental notification for specified information
2. Requires parents to make decisions regarding upbringing and control of their children
3. Prevents schools from making decisions without parents on topics of mental, emotional, physical well being.
4. Prevents classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in grades Pre K through 3rd.
THAT IS IT.
What in the bill is it you are against, GWB? Answer the question directly like I have shown you the courtesy in doing.
