Trump is a national disgrace. Him at the press conference would have made Neville Chamberlain proud.
He totally just sold out our federal law enforcement. He should be impeached today.
Attached above is a YouTube video of the press conference held involving Putin and Trump in Helsinki. The press conference starts at about the 1 hour and 10 minute mark.
Trump is critical of the FBI. However, it is for cause. Missing servers, emails, and selective or soft investigations have undermined the credibility of the FBI’s leadership. Unless you consider GW Bush, appointer of Mueller a saint, one has to wonder which political faction Mueller is really working for.
Putin has offered to cooperate in the Mueller investigation by offering access to those Russians under indictment under a 1999 treaty with the US. As Putin also points out, there are some interesting facts that involve Hillary that will come to light.
Although Putin and Trump each have their own personal issues, they appear to be representing their countries interests well, but also recognize there are great benefits in cooperating with each other. Putin mentioned a recent meeting in Russia involving about 500 executives from the United States. Russia has a lot of underutilized resources and a still somewhat limited infrastructure. The combination of US Business know how and Russian resources will create significant economic opportunities for both countries. I wish Putin addressed Russian legal system reforms to further encourage future business investment there.
Trump and Putin are still at odds over Crimea. I wish that Putin talked more about Ukraine, however it seems there will be an uneasy cooperative effort involving natural gas pipelines. Putin best addressed the competition between Russia and the Untied States over being the main supplier of natural gas to Europe by stating that a price war would be counterproductive as it would reduce incentive for future natural gas production and infrastructure, but excessive prices would tend to cause demand to seek alterative energy sources.
Putin praised Trump on his North Korea meeting with Kim, citing non proliferation is a benefit for all.
Both Presidents seemed in agreement over future humanitarian efforts in Syria by both countries.
Putin was impressive in his foundational approach to problem solving. Putin also seems to grasp basic economic principles better now than a few years ago. Trump’s reasoning for his positions seemed sound overall.
I must conclude that we are seeing very impressive leadership shown not by just Trump and Putin, but also Kim and Xi. It seems Trump has brought these formitable leaders to the negotiating table and this may help create an opportunity for long lasting peace and economic prosperity for the world.
The current trade friction between China and the US is likely to be resolved. China has to know Trump is committed to balancing our trade agreements. China has played their hand well as well by keeping the pressure on. Only this time, the US political leadership is not folding like a cheap suit. The Chinese leadership is practical and will likely agree to a meeting to address the various trade issues appropriately.
We are living in exciting times and an paradigm shifting opportunity appears to be upon us.
