I think hes much better than Booker who I never really liked.I'm just learning about this guy but I'm impressed so far.Like Obama he connects with both black and whites and does great with the media.Having served in The Military will fend off a lot of attacks.Dude came out of nowhere and became a fucking Governor.Im keeping my eye on him

He lacks the charisma of Obama and came across as a little smug in the debates to me. The guy he was running against was a complete clown and Larry Hogan said he wasn’t voting for him.

You’re right about AOC sounding too young (and snobby). It’s obviously harder for black people and it’s harder for women to become president. Needless to say, black women have double the trouble and unfairly have an uphill battle. Black women who come across as angry have no chance. You have to be able to connect with white independents. If a black woman is going to be president she needs to be more like Oprah. Val Demmings is way less off-putting than Nina Turner, but she got smoked. Not sure about Beasily, who ran a close race. Haven’t watched any of her. Stacey Abrams is becoming more and more off-putting to white voters. I think this election ended her. Harris is very unpopular and was above her qualifications becoming VP. Those are all the black women I can think of that have been discussed nationally. Needless to say, I don’t think a black woman will be elected POTUS in 2024.

A lot of young people like AOC. My kids just adore her. Democratic socialism is something they like. I guess because it goes against the mainstream Politics of the older generations which they seem to despise.

Whenever somebody calls themselves a Democratic Socialist they guarantee that at least 45% of the country won't vote for them. It's really stupid politics. The truth is that every single developed nation is a hybrid with mixes of capitalism and socialism. There's things run by the private sector with regulations, public-private partnerships, and things run entirely by the public sector (fire departments, law & order, the military, etc). Most of the debate around socialism in this country revolves around healthcare and what kind of system do we want. I personally really hate to eliminate private competition, because I think the private sector is more innovative than a government bureaucracy could ever be. However, we're currently seeing too many industries become monopolized or at least oligopolies which hurts competition/prices and sometimes innovation as well.

Well said. Though if government loans money for R&D, and applies good oversight, those privately developed products can be quite profitable to society.

Maryland is 60% white and elected a moderate Republican Governor the last 2 terms,he would do great with moderate whites as he just did becoming Governor.His military and educational background is perfect.I have the same feeling about him as I did for Obama when he first came on the scene .I have a no vote for,donate to or volunteer for moderate democrat policy,but I'd likely make an exception for him.
