Yeh. Full smear political smear job. He wants to leave a black cloud hanging over Trump for the elections but does not have the goods to prosecute. Trump is not on the ballot or a candidate for anything so not bringing charges withing 60 days of an election is bullshiite.
Then after the election: "While we feel we were justified in acting expeditiously, we have determined that it would not be in the best interests of the country to bring charges and further protract this matter."

Just documents. Can only be established at trial what has been declassified. The fact that documents still have older classification labels on them does not establish that they do not fall within ordered declassifications.

We are not going to try the case here. One legal issue that comes up is that documents for a president become declassified when he verbally declassifies them and therefore has knowledge that they have been declassified. For the large or limited number of users in the executive branch they may be declassified to the president but they must await the bureaucracy going through all the documents to re-label them as such before they can use them, unless they have security clearance- but the fact that it has not been done for the bureaucracy does not mean they are not declassified for the president.
That is one of about twenty issues requiring massive litigation for Garland. In any case, my posts have consistently said that Garland was in a hurry to do his political theatrics at Maralago but he will not be in any hurry to go to trial with this disaster. Howz that lookin?
