I'd expect a few being old enough to remember young polio victims, its a perfect illustration of how cons view the world.
a. Polio leaves survivors mamed for life in way that makes me uncomfortable to look at them. MUST HAVE VACCINE.
b. Covid has only maimed and killed people I don't know so far and I have not seen them die a nightmarish a suffocating death over days after a month of agony. Meh

No, just to be clear, I'm supporting the point that you've lost your freaking mind on COVID.
As for the vaccination, I won't be getting it for a long time, and neither will my wife or my child. That is my personal choice based on the risk.
I think if COVID caused paralysis (or blindness, or something as severe), it'd be far more of a concern.
You really should look into COVID long-haulers.

If you are sick and unhealthy...yeah... that seems like the vaccine is worth the risk.
For the young and healthy... there is virtually no risk so why mess with the new technology of messenger RNA.
If you are in the middle of the age bracket and healthy I think the wise move is to wait and see if there are complications. especially since there is a shortage of vaccine right now anyway.

Show me the study that says COVID long haulers are worse off than flu or pneumonia or other respiratory long haulers. Otherwise its no different than the risks we've been living with forever.
Obviously no medical researcher would get this type of comparative "study"funded since it makes no sense and serves no purpose. What you are asking for is absurd.
There are plenty of studies underway focused on COVID longhaulers. Plenty of information has been published about them.
