In your experience, what % of males/females do you see in every day life. After answering, please post your city and time of day. Perhaps a general type of location (eg. shopping mall, club, restaurant, etc.)
I am in Fort Lauderdale, Florida right now. I am seeing roughly 80% male/20% female here. That is at night in the clubs (although prior to 11pm) and at the beach today. It is windy though, so that might be a factor.
I think the official census numbers of population being roughly 50/50 might be in error. I have been traveling quite extensively throughout the southern USA and 70/30 to 80/20 male ratio is the norm at airports and bars and restaurants and streets that I have seen.
I have a theory that I can explain a bit later....
EDIT: this is a very important economics question due to the preponderance of female-targeted advertising. Most ads that I see are for women's clothing, perfume, and feminine-type of products. However, I wonder where those women are? Perhaps advertising had to be raised to bring in a declining population of females? Perhaps.
