Tulsi Gabbard learned that lesson on day one. The dnc's claim that they were doing all they could to promote young women and get them to run for office turned out to be "try running for president and we will tell people right from the get-go why you are not qualified."

Howard Shultz knew that right from the get-go. No room for him to even run. If anyone read that link in the first post in this thread it has the washington state dem party arguing that if he wanted to run for president he should just run as a democrat in the dem primary starting right there in washington state. The dnc is not supposed to be filtering out and who should and should not be electable. If they are not electable well that is what the frigging campaign process and primary votes are all about. She is trying to be the female version of Obama which isn't going to happen. Say what you want about Obama, he is not stupid man, whereas AOC is one dumb broad. How far she goes is solely dependent on how long the media fuels her celebrity status, and the mob bores quickly these days.
She is too young to do anything, she is in office not even a month....wait until her ideal optimism is squashed trying to get things done.
She was the only dem to vote against ending the shutdown, temporarily. Because it provided for funding ICE.

You may think that voting against ICE plays to a Democratic base but it is just another Trump attack. Dems want border security but wont agree to the wall because of how Trump claimed it.
Same with ICE, Trump wanted to use it like a weapon against those its base were railing against (i.e. have ICE raids to go after any undocumented person rather than those who committed crimes here like he lied about) so she probably voted against it as a message.
However the way Trump simply railed against anything Obama to get its base excited and it got old real fast, so too will the far left doing the same thing to Trump. ICE is not the issue so it will get funded, extra funding in my opinion. AOC wants her 15 minutes now.
If the democrats try to dump AOC, that would be like Green Bay dumping the young Brett Favre because he was a little wacky. She is their future. They better learn to own it.
Okay well, here is the scoop. Dems either want or are okay with open borders and border security does not exactly advance that plan nor has it in the past before Trump came along.
I do understand that the recent rage on the forum is for posters to explain that the dems are playing six dimensional chess and when that does not make sense it is only because simple country boys like me cannot see it.
Sometimes however, the simple answer is the correct one. The dems either do not want or are actively working against border security or do not consider it to be any kind of priority. When or if Trump or the republicans stop working the issue, the issue does not exist for dems.
Maybe I can pull into a lotus position and meditate on it while realigning my chakras and see it differently but so far no luck.
