We are all brainwashed to some extent, even really smart people. In a way, he has hit on a deep truth, but it is a statement that could be made of any distinction. Democrats would say Republicans have been brainwashed. Palestinians would say Jews have been brainwashed. It adds no new knowledge, but it does make a statment about the human condition.
