It is interesting to me that during the debates, a huge part of the electorate was basically ignored - Millenials. The reasons are clear, the status quo doesn't want to have to deal with the issues that face them, because once you do, you let the Socialism cat out of the bag.

(CNN)In 2016, likely the hottest year on record, there's one question US presidential debate moderators had a moral obligation to ask Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton: How do you plan to address climate change and rid the economy of fossil fuels?

Yet they never did.

31% of the people of this country, or almost 1/3, are intrigued by Democratic Socialism. And yet, not one question in nearly five hours of debates by the two representative parties, watched by hundreds of millions of people, addressed a single issue from the point of view of this growing electorate.

The rise of progressives in the Democratic Party is unstoppable. Either they brake off and form a new party, or the current entrenched old ideas evolve and adapt to the progressive wing and embraces it's principles that is taken it by storm.

 
Ideas are the lifeblood of progress in human history. First you have to get the definitions right or forever be confused.

It is important to have a kind of line of where the ideas lie so that you can see where you are in that spectrum.

 
The professor makes a killer argument. Maybe the best I have ever seen. You have to have the patience to listen to the whole thing.

Get a cup of tea, remove distractions, concentrate and listen.

Most everyone with an open mind understands everything the professor says. But this is really easy to explain using everyday common experiences that people understand from their own lives.

The analogy:

You want the power going to the wheels of your car that sits underneath the weight of the engine. Otherwise you skid all over the place in anything but beautiful weather. You can alleviate it with snow tires, but those are second or third order solutions. Snow tires is unemployment insurance. Better is to have good employment with good living wages.

The economics:

The analogy in economics is that you want the wages going to as many people as possible - to the wheels that sit underneath the weight of the engine. Disproportionate income going to the 1% to 10% is like the power of the engine going to the wheels that are not underneath the weight of the engine. It works very small part of the time. In bad economic times, it is a disaster waiting to happen with Recessions or Depressions always looming in that scenario.

The very basis of what it means to be an Economy defines itself away when income doesn't flow in some middle-class building manner to workers. What economy is left when no one has any money to consume? Now, no one is saying that in America people work for free. But if you want a stable vibrant economy, the power of the engine has to go to the wheels that have the most grip.

What's so freaking hard to understand about that?

Trump has proposed to make everyone into an entrepreneur. That is fine and definitionally solves many problems on paper, but how exactly does that work without immigration to enable the freedom to go out and work 12 to 15 hour day that most entrepreneurs work?

Laissez-faire Capitalism requires "slave" labor in some form or another. The USA propaganda machine sells the "American Dream" to the rest of the world so that you don't have to "mow your own grass".

Should Lebron James mow his own grass? That is the "Theory".

now if only these people were to explain that when your concern is that too much money is going to the rich, you need to do a few things.

1. create competition for the rich by not taxing the 99.8 %.
2. term limits the rich can stop buying politicians for life
3. consider putting more limits on the power of privately owned central banks throughout the world. As long as private banks can make money without regard to how much the govt spends. their cronies are going to acquire all the assets and the politicians.

Socialism and Communism create an elite class who own the assets and the govt.
Capitalism competition and much lower taxes spread out the wealth.

Climate change is so inconvenient. No one wants to talk about it. Even millenials. It's a bummer man.
