That's the thing i'm finding that the tea party has alot of appeal to many left wingers as well as per the libertarian elements within it. Left wingers favor the socially liberal positions favored by the tea party such as drug decriminalization and the position on the "war on drugs" in general, the enthusiasm for non interventionist foreign policy, the anti patriot act, anti excessive law enforcement, and anti prison industry elements. There are many "audit the fed", anti war, and anti lobbying types as well. They mostly all favor broad protection from search and seizure etc. All of which appeal to most liberals. After all the tea party movement and the greater libertarian movement are really just advocates for liberalism. Real liberalism though, classic liberalism.

Not this 21st centruy "social liberalism", which is really just marxism-lite, or socialism repackaged. The people you call "liberals" today are not liberals. They simply hijacked the term.

Just read a bunch of the comments, awesome! Especially nice to see those people defending him coming from a magazine like GQ which would be a younger age group and more Liberal then the Tea Party overall.
Another funny note about this story, supposedly the unamed source is a clinical psychologist!! LOL
A clinical psychologist who decides not to report it when people supposedly blind fold her, kidnap her try to force her to do drugs then drive her out to the middle of nowhere.
I would hate to be one of her patients, something tells me it would be a colossal fucking waste of money.
