Demo vs. Micro Account

I completely agree with you. Newbies don’t need to risk money when they can practice trading on a demo account without having to risk their money. It is the best way of putting your knowledge to the test and seeing where you stand.

I don’t think everyone benefits from demo trading because it fills you with hopes and when you go live, you don't get anything more than disappointment.

Well, that is everyone’s personal point of view. I don’t think there is any harm in practising on a demo account and getting acquainted with the platform. I have a habit of testing strategies on my demo accounts (fxview, ICM, XTB) so that I can get an idea about how my strategy will work on the live market. In fact I am back on the demo platform now after some margin calls so I am all the more cautious about practicing intensively before I go live.
