Purpose of demo trading is to provide a realistic trading environment especially for new traders and to get familiar with the platform.
Manipulation is everywhere , you just have to make sure best effort of trading , otherwise trading life could be more dangerous.Though the forex market can be manipulated, I think Market makers have no role in manipulating the market. If we look at the patterns carefully and analyse them we can identify the false signals.

Some traders are against demo accounts, but imo they are very helpful for traders who are completely clueless about the market. Moreover, they help you backtest strategy. It is true the real market makes you a successful trader. But without practising on a demo account, you can’t become a trader.
