Demo account is extremely important. especially for newbies. It's the best place to practice with virtual money before risking your money.
Yes with demo account we can free to backtesting system trading and strategy, if any trader they prefer use ea hence backtesting through demo account is very important before used in real account.

Actually I knows forex already few years ago, but might still like as general newbie which included in hurry to jump with real account after practice demo few week only and what happen first time in real only can defend a week then eventually get margin call account.
for me, since it's virtual money, so I dont have much motivation, I'm practicing but I'm a scalper, earn and protect pips are much easier. But I think I'll trade demo at least 6 months.
I guess demo accounts should be traded for at least six months before going to trade live, though it seems to be bit tiring job but still it can help traders to get good hands on trading systems.
