Dem Sen. Kay Hagan Skips Debate, Empty Chair More Articulate

This is really a non-story. There were three US Senate debates agreed to by both candidates set back in July. This debate was not one of them. I will note that both candidates missed a debate last week (which was also not one of the three - which have all occurred already).

I will also mention that TWC Channel 14 is not available in most communities in our state. The possible viewing audience for this debate is minimal. If you want a debate to be seen then it needs to be aired state-wide on public TV (CBS, NBC, etc.).

I live in NC, and this campaign has been crazy go nuts expensive. Can't watch anything on YouTube without an ad for this race, twice people have come to my door, received a crapload of mail from both sides - this is nuts! Can't watch TV at all without seeing ads for this contest. Clearly government is fucked up something fierce if people can spend this many millions of dollars on a seat in Congress.

And that's bad, because who even knows where this guy came from.
Kenya? Outer Space?

Yes, the spending on this Senate race is above $100 million. This is the highest cost race ever in the history of our state, and one of the highest cost ever in our nation for a U.S. Senate race.

I am sick of all the endless commercials - online, TV, radio - everywhere.

It's one of the few contested seats democrats still have a chance at. I read it was the most expensive race in history, which is a long time. Outside leftist groups are flooding NC with money for Hagan.

Ironically, this is a race where the actual candidates and their qualifications, record, etc should not matter a lick. It is purely about control of the Senate.

Whether Repubs control the Senate or not will not make the least difference.
