Okay, so the kabuki dance is gonna look like this:
The dems pile lots and lots of stuff into their footnotes (in the coming counter-memo) that is too sensitive to release.
Then they use the basic memo to lambast nunes, his mother, and jim Jordan and jim Jordan's mother for allegedly just being political with nothing to substantiate it.
Next, Trump's people tell him some stuff in that memo cannot be released or must be redacted. Sources, methods being exposed, and so on.
From there, the dems argue that all the points they were making were fully substantiated - but trump would not release them. And the republicans allegedly just don't want the dems to be able to show material that refutes the nunes/republican memo- blah, blah, ad naseum.
Big mistake on their part. It will give them talking points for the sunday news programs and the lefty media/shep smith will eat it right up and get several good days out that.
The problem with going down that road, though, is that they end out siding with those who argue that there is lots of secret stuff that needs to be looked at by someone independent- ie an INDEPENDENT COUNSELOR/PROSECUTOR. There are unintended consequences to joining with the republicans in arguing that the people still don't know the full story from those memos and that what they don't know could be bad for the country.
