Don't mean to be a pest, but there are currently 4 people interested enough in these computers to be "thinking about it"... you know how that goes.

If you want one, you should speak up soon or run the risk of missing out.

I had 5. 3 have been sold. I won't be having more.

As an FYI, The E8500 CPU is selling for over $50 on eBay and the E8300 CPU is selling for just under $50.

These machines are probably worth closer to $500 in parts alone ($50 CPU, $100 empty chassis, $100 HDD, $100 RAM, $100 video card(s) and then all the extras like optical drives, cables, etc.)

Nevermind the $100 price of W7.

Amazing, isn't it?

I've often calculated the new cost of a "low-end, workstation-class machine" to be approximately $600 + CPU and + RAM. RAM is now cheap, but still...

For a trading machine which is going to run 7-8+ hours per day, you want something RELIABLE... that is a higher quality motherboard... and QUIET (in a high-performance gaming rig, you can turn up the sound volume to drown out the video card fan noise). T3400s don't even have a CPU fan... they use 2, bigger, slower, less noisy, larger, case fans for cooling... makes a considerable difference.

And as for computing power... How many know that a dual core CPU workstation computer has >10,000X the horsepower needed to process the "average real-time data stream" from the financial markets? (I said "10,000X"... riduculous as that is, the REAL "outperformance" is waaaayyy higher than that!)
