I am currently running a T3400 with 2x, NVS 290, PCIEx16 cards, for my 4-monitor primary trading rig. You could also run an NVS 290, + 290 PCIEx1 or a 280 PCI along with one NVS 290x16... so long as your video requirements don't exceed 1600x1200, DVI.
I also own a T3400 and have 3 video cards installed:
a. NVS 290 PCIEx16
b. NVS 285 PCIEx16
c. NVS 280 PCI
I have one 24" monitor running at 1920 x 1200, which is flanked by two 20" monitors running 1600 x 1200, I also have three 19" monitors running at their native resolution. So I'm here to tell you that you CAN run higher than 1600x1200 as the NVIDIA Quadro NVS cards (except for the 280 PCI) support resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. Check the link below for the stats.
Just a friendly FYI.
