dell monitors - new -deal

While I completely agree with your statement about IPS panels, both of the units you listed appear to be TN ...

Here's a reasonably comprehensive list of IPS-based monitors

Correct. Easy way to tell. (1) If the monitor is $150, it's not IPS. (2) The viewing angle should be 176-178 degrees for IPS. If 170/160 or less, it's definitely TN.

Who is making monitors for Dell these days? Awhile back Samsung was making some of their better models, and I picked up a couple Dell/Samsungs for quite a bit less than the Samsung brand name version, and they are still working great.

The thin panel design would be PERFECT for hanging on the wall.
Unfortunately, DELL blew it by only allowing for the cables to be plugged in from the back of the monitor. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb...
