Not surprising. Dell has quietly canceled all the orders placed for the price mistaken Dimension 4600 desktops. It is always worth trying at least.
Per Dell:
"Numerous customers ordered Dimension 4600 systems from the Small Business site yesterday attempting to take advantage of a $400 discount. As the price point on the website indicated, the price of that system was intended to be $894 after discount. Due to a site malfunction, numerous customers attempted to reconfigure the system and place orders for amounts significantly lower than this. As the website indicates at the bottom, Dell cannot be responsible for errors, omissions, or consequences of misuse of site and its functions. In addition, the site indicates that orders are subject to cancellation. In this case, because of this error, these orders have been cancelled."

I purchased a refurbished Dell 8300 back in early July of this year and have noticed that you cannot even come close to the same price of this model right now, to the point where absolutely NOTHING shows up in inventory.
Even the new 8300's that are configured the same as the unit that I purchased in July ( 512mb memory on a P4 at 2.60 with 800 FSB ) are roughly $1400.00 while my unit ran me $775.00
