DELL 30" Ultra Sharp

More 19 inchers...perhaps I am being misunderstood.

The bezels are thin and the multiple 19" set up seems to be more than half the cost.

Michael B.

P.S. I currently have worked my way up to two desktops with three 19" incher's and two laptops with two isp's on the network. Why would i buy a 30" monitor...when I can get some 19 inchers for a lot less and accomplish the same?

Capital distribution is key to success, so if you were managing several million and were participating in say 20 markets and had to observe 20 charts, then you could look at this from another angle of necessity, rather than would or wouldn't.

more 19 inchers would also mean that it would have to extend much further. if you needed, say 3 lcds (side by side) and you added one more on the side, you might not be able to see the 4th it as opposed to having 3 - 20 inchers with more real estate. does that make sense now?

OK, what if you wanted to eyeball charts from 20 feet away while relaxing on your 19th century Chesterfield sipping that Manhattan on the rocks? :)

No I do find that to be true at all...there are some effective stands available...or you can make your own set up...

I just do not get it...But that does not mean much, cause' I cannot get why people would use Mac's for trading either...

I must consider this...

i'm just referring to 3 across the bottom. but, if you wanted 9 lcds, you would run into the same problem. you can have 3 high which would mean you would have 3 x 3. if you needed to add a 4th (on the side), you still would have to extend it further.

here's the math to make it easier to understand. the 20" is 1600 across and the 19" is 1280, 1600 x 3 = 4800. 1280 x 4 = 5120. as you can see, the 3 - 20" will get you pretty close to the real estate on 4 - 19".

to summarize, any time you need to extend sideways, you can save space by using the higher res 20". i simply don't have the room for 19 inchers. i already have 2 rows of lcds stacked.

ohh..i have a u-shaped desk...with a u-shaped mind...

Do you have a digital camera?...I would love to see your setup...
