I didn't expect such a color conversation going on when I finally got a chance to check this thread out today.
After reading through the posts I'd like to say a few words if I may.
1) Iranian President vs. Israel:
This is a very interesting subject that has received what I would call "one-sided" attention most of the time. Is the Iranian president a good man who wants peace? Not exactly. Does he want all the Jews wiped off the map? No. His statements seem to be directed at the policies and policy-makers of the West and Israel. He has stated that his disdain is not necessarily for the "Jews" as people but for the oppression they allow their leaders to push. The same can be said somewhat for the American people who are against this "war" (some might call it an illegal occupation, whatever). The thing is, the jews or the American people really don't have any say over the policies that are enacted upon. If they did, then the 2006 elections would've caused the change that it appeared America was voting for. So far, it hasn't changed much (except for enacting some 911-commission recommendations and raising minimum wage 70 cents).
2) 9/11/2001 and Al Qaeda:
This is another very controversial yet seemingly growing topic of conversation around the world. Robin Cook, before resigning (and dying) wrote that "Al Qaeda" was the name of "The Database" of Mujahadeen fighters trained to fight the Soviets. Funded and trained by the CIA. This would make 9/11 "Blowback", as many call it.
I for one do not believe that "Bush did 9/11", nor do I fully accept that 19 radical muslims lead by a Caveman and a few others were able to successfully hoodwink the American military and intelligence communities. Able Danger, concealed documents, gag orders (see Sibel Edmonds), and many other issues that have yet to be investigated or resolved are certainly legitimate reasons for folks to be skeptical. If the last 6 years haven't shown you that "official government statements" aren't exactly 100% true and complete, I don't know what will.
However, there are other radical beliefs about 9/11 such as "Zionists/Mossad did it" or "Space Beams brought down the towers" which pick and choose their arguments as well.
The bottom line with this is the truth about 9/11 is that we don't know the truth about 9/11, but the half-truths have been exploited by this administration to no end as justification for things that many would consider just as, if not more, heinous.
3) Homeland Security
I for one have a problem with the whole "good vs. evil" rhetoric and with open borders it makes me wonder exactly how fighting Iraq protects our homeland.
4) Religion
I think one thing we can all agree is that there is enough religion in the world to wage wars over, but not enough religion in the world to love each other and live in harmony in celebration of the fact that we are all of the same species. This Tom Delay article really shows that there is a very strong constituency in the US that is pandered to in order to gain support for elections and policy. This, in itself, is very scary, and I believe that future generations will not be of the same "mindset" as the group Delay and others are pandering to. 20 years from now it truly will be a totally different world.
That is, of course, unless this whole "second coming" thing goes down as Delay hopes for.

I am beyond all of that. All am saying; there are tens of questions that need to be answered and non of them are.
The war criminals who did the Iraqi genocide had a different agenda other than finding the people behind the so called terrorist attack.
The people who lied about Iraq's nuclear capability and its ties to these groups are capable of doing anything.
Add this question mark to that question mark to the pathological behavior of this administration, including the support and the enlisting of services of new Islamic terrorist groups so that they could cause havoc to Lebanon and Iran (Jund Allah and Fath Al Islam), and I will trust the devil before I trust these heartless bastards.
Neither side in this argument is fully correct, because each is so intent on being "right".
Is Iran a threat right now? Not really.
Could they be in the future? Sure, anyone could.
Does our governement lie constantly? Yes
Are the lies restricted to one party? No
Did Bush orchestrate or cause 9/11? Unlikely
Did he want Iraq to be responsible? Likely
Were there alterior motives to declaring war on iraq? Sure
Does Bush have personal interest in oil? Absolutely
Is he trying to use Iraq's oil or prevent it from being used? The latter is the more logical argument.
Would we be well served by electing a president with no ties to the oil industry? Absolutely
Does every religion have radicals it isn't proud of? Yes
Do these individuals either prove or disprove the truthfulness of the religion? No
Does religion cause more bad than good? Unlikely
Is the good that religion causes hard to quantify? Yes
Is the bad that religion causes hard to quantify? No
Does the US cause some bad in the world? Yes
Does the US cause good in the world? Yes
Should the US withdraw from the world, secure its borders and resort to merchantilism? A resounding no.
Does the good done by the US outweigh the bad? The question is rhetorical in nature, but the answer is likely yes.
If our governement had something to do with 9/11 does that make me ashamed to be an American? No
Do I feel guilty about the people who are killed in Iraq? No
Why? Because I refuse to take accountability for the actions of others.
Is our political system flawed? Absolutely
Is there an easy way to fix it? No
