Indices: Sell near the close on Friday 6/15/12 and you will be rewarded with a HUGE FLUSH lower into the end of the month. Sell all pullbacks into end of day JUNE 26th. Targets are 1175 and more bearish 1085 S&P Cash.

ENERGIES: BUY over the next day for a shorter-term (2-4) day several +$$$ move in Crude. Look for at least a $3.50-$5.00 move higher from the open of the pit on Tuesday 9am est 6/12/12 Target high to mid $87.00 basis August contract.

EURO: BUY over the next few weeks (yes, not a typo). Buy ALL retracements (deep or shallow). EURO has bottomed on a MONTHLY & WEEKLY cycle--expect a 'stair-step' upmove and you can buy me a drink or 20 with some of your profits at the end of the summer.

GOLD: Buy all pullbacks (it is going higher the next 4+ weeks). Deep retracements off the Week of May 14th low are shaking out the little retail traders so that the next price targets come into view. 1682 and 1721 basis August futures.

Well, I have to fire up the Espresso Machine and Ma Haung Leaves on the stove 'cause daddy has to go to work. London is open and as always; a holy man's work is never done.

Hedvig, I notice you use a lot of esoteric voodoo in your longer term trading.

My (admittedly amateur) opinion on any kind of TA is that the reason it "works" is the self-fulfilling prophecy. For example I don't believe Fib numbers have any significance in the markets other than lots of traders are watching them. Enough people believe it and thus it becomes a real phenomenon.

Now as for the weird stuff, I find myself thinking how can it have any significance if hardly anyone understands it? Am I supposed to believe that secret voodoo cycles are for real? :)

How is that related to, um--how about a multi-month/multi-week advance in Eurofx Futures in the face of massive upcoming fundamental news that will be coming out and is presenting itself each day over there in the socialist flotsam that is Europe?

I use esoteric analysis quite a bit for these 'campaign' trades. It takes work to triangulate a low/high w/in 1 day in what seems like a sea of randomness and uncertainty.

I closely follow the teachings of men before me; notably, Myles Wilson Walker, Bradley Cowan, Gann, Lars von Thienen & Jim Hurst {should be obvious by now}.

For precisely this reason I rarely post about my longer-term/mid-term swingtrades. People get a bit emotional. Ahh--that is part of the analysis (hint, hint).

Finally, it is NOT necessary to use my approach to identify swing highs and lows within both linear & non-linear cycles.

I have an undergraduate degree in statistics and a M.Phil. degree {Masters of Philosophy in mathematics}. I could wipe my ass with that pedigree and my brain-damaged memory barely recalls University days (and surely not the nights).

I can also show anyone a simple swingtrading method one can use that is at least 75%+ accurate using common indicators in Ninjatrader with minimum risk/reward of 1:1.75 up to 1:3.0 ratios as well.

So, it is a bit (respectively, from the descriptions above) like the following question; do you like

a) really skinny tall exotic-looking foreign women with unique facial features and barely any tits and 12 year-old boy hips and legs with a 38 inch inseam

OR

b) healthy hip/waist ratio {0.7} C-cup Scandinavian/German blonde-blue eyed women that are ready to make the right man a father...

How do I put it all together (for swingtrading)?

This may come off as cocky or arrogant (assuredly it is not); my work is based on a high level of accuracy and having tracked over 1,700+ swingtrades in my career {27+ years full time} in Indices, Interest Rates, Metals, Currencies, Grains, Softs, Energies & International Markets & Sectors I confirm after the 1st several days or so whether my anticipated

a) short-term swing trades
b) longer-term campaign trades
c) Macro-term long-term multi-month to several fiscal quarter trades

swingtrades are on the right track.

How? Continued price action based on my cycle work AFTER my entry. I always use a mental stop(s) that I honor as if my next breath depended on it in case I am wrong. Yes; I am wrong a minority--a small minority of the time. That is trading! Probability, statistics and proper position sizing are all my best friends!

Frequently, once I have confirmed continuing price action after entry with further analysis I then begin to focus a bit more on shorter-term scaling in and out and then back in again (@shorter-term profit targets and then waiting for another favorable entry on pullbacks within the 'now defined' trend) several times and at least 50% of the time with options strategies to augment my 'base'/core position.

As long as price and volume move the markets (controlled by human emotions and behaviors); I am good with that. Even HFT doesn't worry me in the slightest. Until we are complete 'Terminator Robots' and humans are not allowed 'free will' to make a buy or sell decision, I have no worries.

p.s. Fundamentals are ALREADY 'cooked' into any market. It is a chicken or egg question; for me, the question(s) are moot.

That written; I do NOT think about it--not 'try not to think about it'--I simply don't. I do not follow politics nor current events to an unusually large degree. No t.v. in my houses nor radio nor do I discuss politics. No offense intended. I realize this is absolutely quite odd; I get it.

I apologize if I am a trader that is unaware of 'news' or fundamentals. Incredulous at it sounds, I am unaware of day to day news announcements (except for my intraday trading and then only if it is a major monthly report such as NFP or EIA on the weekly report schedule, or PPI/CPI/GDP--a grand total of about 5 reports). Again, this is ONLY for intraday trading. I don't interpret the numbers.

This is contrarian in nature, I am a contrarian by nature--so it works for me. This was an excellent question. In my humble opinion NONE of the fundamentals mean anything; they are randomly controlled and adjusted and leaked and cooked and ???? in so many various and nefarious ways that it is utter f*ckery.

Finally, my trading partner (he is more of my 'accountant' really; older and wiser in the ways of 'shekel accumulation') every now and then lets me know if anything is going on in the world he thinks may 'amuse' me; that, indeed--is good enough for me.

Okay, time to drink my drink (only Green Dragon THC tincture--saving up the real liqour for Saturday night) and take a hot tub.

There was some good-looking young broads on the treadmill today @the YFCA.

hi Stephan. Your trading experience must be awesome so that you could still profit on a choppy day like yesterday! I notice you seemed to take more than your usual "less than 1%" risk on the trades mentioned. Any reason for that?

I have been trading forex for around 2 years and still find it difficult to trade profitably. That's why I enjoy reading stories and taking advices from those who are the real deals with knowledge and character.

I am sick today (just woke up here before noon est). I'll answer your question briefly before my 'nurse' comes over with chicken broth; then I have to prepare for a massage.

Intraday volatility waxes and wanes (even on volume charts) and @times the typical ranges of price action is larger than my normal avg. of just under 1%.

I do risk up to 2% on any one trade (never more). For example the CL trade was a risk of 1.785% of the margin I use per contract {from that CL trade yesterday}.

The NQ trade was a bit rich @$80.00 or 1.145% of margin. Finally, 6E was also 1.785% of margin as well.

Over time my risk per trade on margin available is roughly about 0.78% to 0.96% in my INTRADAY trading.

I do vary my contract sizes and the margin I base my % returns on is usually between 100-200K. I don't like to put out the big numbers because the money is a byproduct of my WORK and absolute dedication to my craft/art & the scientific application of 'relentlessly running the numbers.'

I do NOT report my London (GC & DX & HSI) intra-night/evening futures trading here because that is typically done with 2 other trading partners, respectively that like to trade with me for a few hours {1 in Europe, 1 in Hong Kong}.

Finally, the swingtrades are where the real BANCO flows in. As I wrote before; I am a much more efficient swingtrader and actually enjoy the process so much more than intraday trading.

That written, I intraday trade (including U.S./Europe/Asia markets) approximately 5+ hours a day split between Asia/Dax~GC/U.S. a.m.

Some might read my journal and ask, does this motherf*ker ever sleep; after all, he is trading full time and chasing young pussy in his free time?

I 'bank' extra sleep when I can. Tending to run 'hot' in the summers {seasonality}. Most likely fell ill yesterday due to who knows what.

Just want to mention again that I trade (U.S.)

6E: 7am up to 8:50am est
CL: 9am up to 9:58am est
NQ/TF: 10am up to 10:58am est

Yesterday (Wed.) was a good day because I was patient and had enough sense to move to a higher timeframe (that was why the risk was a bit higher) because I could SEE the 'choppy' nature of 6E & NQ at critical trade setup times.

Yes, I did sim 1 of my approaches to intraday trading for the U.S. session (6E/6B/QM/CL/NQ) for nearly 800 trades last fall {never undertest--always overtest}.

I use volume and S/R intraday and 'rolling 30 minute pivots' for other intraday trades (really like volume and s/r on the dax) and rolling 30 minute pivots work well (with price action analyis) on GC overnight.

Had visited NQ00's website many times and was looking to round out an approach that

a) bought the 1st pullback (very precisely) within a defined trend w/multiple timeframe confirmation

AND

c) confirm legit 'momentum' breakouts w/higher timeframe confirmation.

I invite all others to check out my threads @bigmiketrading because as 'researcher248' knows; I post ALOT in there {'cause it is a cool trading forum}.

You'll see how I have tested (mostly for fun) many other approaches and I am particularly scathing in my disdain for MANY vendors; though legit vendors who have fair-priced methods I do give respect to.

Oh yes; if you try Green Dragon you will be 'transformed.' I decided!

I use it for nerve damage on the left side of my body from sports injuries as a youth. Also for a bad back that needs 'medicine.'
