Debt jumps to 12 year high!!! Dumb consumers just keep consuming !!

Anyone with any wealth knows this is exactly how broke people talk lol.
I don't know anyone with any net worth that is not cheap as fuck unless it came from daddy.

I run my own business. Every extra hour I devote to that is an hour I make a hell of a lot more than $35. But I could be a construction worker or a factory employee who could volunteer for overtime, same difference. And yes, I absolutely pay someone else to clean my house, I take my car through the car wash, pay someone else to risk their neck on my gutters, pay Jiffy Lube to change my oil.... Basically everything else that I could and at one point in my life did do when my time was worth less than $35/hour, but it is now horribly inefficient and in fact moronic to do myself when others can do it for significantly less than my opportunity cost and since they have all the right equipment, training, and experience can actually do it faster and better than you or I. And I buy most of my stuff on Amazon unless I actually enjoy shopping for it, why waste time going to a drug store to buy Q-tips? And this is a guy who has rebuilt carburetors and changed head gaskets and the like, I'm mechanically inclined and not afraid to get dirty, that's not the point. Now I only do that if I will enjoy doing it (and still sometimes do, I did some work on the car last weekend with my teenage son and we talked about this very thing), not because of a false sense of economy.

...

ARE YOU NOT THE FOOL MISSING THE ENTIRE RALLY NOW HAVING TO DIG THE DITCHES BY THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE... OF COURSE YOU CAN'T AFFORD A F'ING COFFEE.

CALL YOUR F'ING BANK.

TODAY.

Now now, don't get testy.

As for "having to dig ditches on the side of the road"? Man, that's municipal or state work. Great gig if you can get it. High wage, pensions, 2-hour lunch breaks (and thus reduced hours). What is wrong with that?

Daddy made $50,000 a year in his highest paid year, mom was a homemaker. Both were "cheap as fuck", luckily I was able to get into a service academy because they couldn't have paid a dime for college. That's one reason they stayed lower middle class, they valued their own time so little.
There are certainly people who are wealthy by extreme frugality, but they make up a significant minority of the wealthy in the U.S. at least. I think you would find it extremely unusual to find someone who didn't grasp the concept of comparative advantage when it comes to labor among the wealthy, certainly among those with any kind of formal business training.

To each his own.

Some of us enjoy cleaning our own house, washing our own car, taking out the garbage, cooking our own meal, doing our own grocery shopping, living in OC instead of Beverly Hills, flying economy instead of first.... Well, delete the last one, I won't go that far. :p
Hey if you enjoy it then absolutely you should do it. Like I said, I spent an hour working on my car with my son last weekend because it was enjoyable. And if you want to take a break for 30 minutes to go get a smoothie, by all means take a break and go get your own smoothie. Just don't try to fool yourself into thinking you did it to save money and that anyone who hires someone else to do it is a foolish moron wasting money, that's all.

BTW, if you're living in the OC you're already a profligate spender from the viewpoint of the guy in Des Moines, all a matter of perspective. And while you were tongue and cheek with the first class thing, it's actually the same concept that most people don't seem to get. Short flights doesn't matter much, but if you're going to Asia and you can spend $7K to arrive well rested and able to do several hours of work on the plane each way vice "saving" money by spending $1,500 to fly economy, get no work done, and waste 2 days either end as a zombie as well as potentially killing a deal because you weren't well rested and on top of your game you're a moron to "save money" by flying economy.

Hey, so personally I think that you will need to pay our loan as fast as you can, since there are some companies which can beat up your loan if you haven't paid it. Anyway, since I had a situation where I take a loan for creating a small company, I haven't paid it because I don't have money for that time. Since then debt collectors from Personal Debt Collection were a lot in my place, and I didn't have a choice, only to pay them from another loan that I took. I hope my story was useful for you.
