That could be a bad thing. It might mean they don't have enough money to pay more. Most people would like to pay off their debts but they simply can't. If you see a stat that says people are spending more of their income on food, do you assume they are eating better and healthier since the assumption is it costs more for organic food?
As long as GrubHub has 20 million active customers and DoordDash may have just as many, people do have plenty of money to spend. Typical driver makes $7-$10 per delivery, so that’s how much 20 million people pay for the luxury of having food delivered. And there are plenty of companies shipping weekly and monthly subscriptions of food, cosmetics, and other stuff. None of that can function when people don’t have money.
