Yeah, but you gotta schmooze with the best to become the best. Trading those thin markets will actually put you in the disadvantage over the long run.
Sorry...I did not say anything nor made any recommendation about trading
"thin markets".
As for Emini ES futures... it's a great trading instrument for veteran traders that do
not have discipline problems. Yet, anyone trading the Emini ES futures should also be aware of the fact its a very popular trading instrument for institutional traders and algorithym automated trading systems that make use of high-frequency trading technology...I think you referred to as
schmooze with the best to become the best.
Regardless, the OP implied he has discipline problems.
The idea is to force me into discipline by recording what I do ... if other people are interested all the better ...
Usually, a trader with discipline problems will use
professional trade journal software (tradebench.com, edgewonk.com, tradervue.com, tradingdiarypro.com, tradersync.com, stocktickr.com, journalsqrd.com, tradingdiary.pro, mxprofit.com, trademetria.com
or create your own via excel like spreadsheet) to do their
quantitative statistical analysis for them so that they'll have feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of their trade strategy...
Assuming they already have backtest results of their trade strategy for comparison to their real money trading results to determine if they are the problem and not their trade strategy.
Therefore, for you to say you have discipline problems...you must then know your trade signal strategy is suitable for trading the Emini ES futures and the hiccup in your trading is the person you're looking at in the mirror
as in you.
This forum is littered (like a graveyard) with public trade journals that talk about trades as they occur but that would imply you're then taking your eyes off your screen to then go to Elitetrader.com to type in small snippets of trade info from Entry to Exit about each trade.
Some even did live stream of their trading here at ET to fix the discipline problems they had...that additional stress made it worst. Those threads did not last too long and joined the list of
graveyard trade journals.
Yet, most stated it made their discipline worst while some stated it helped.
Let us know in a few months if your thread has been helpful in resolving some of your discipline problems. If not, you may then consider starting a thread in the
psychology section about the details involving your discipline problems...it may be more fruitful for you.
