Judges don't like a history of that when you're arranging parenting orders.
"Your honour, I would absolutely love to go to trial and show you how deeply I care about these kids but as you can see, it creates a tension between the parents which affects the kids. After <X> years, I would much rather have this done sooner rather than later, especially since <proof> shows that the mother is only doing this to prolong the fight for no benefit to the children. This is in the children's best interests. We all know that divorced children do worse when the parents fight."
You'd be surprised what judges will listen to when presented with proof. I actually had a judge say to both lawyers "I'm not sure why the two parties are fighting," after one such speech. During this speech, I even said "She was my first friend as a child and my best friend, I have no hard feelings towards her."
