Quote from Johnny Rotten:
For those who don't know Magna ...allow me the honour of introducing him
No need, but I'm touched. Unlike folks who essentially started posting last month and are already on their second alias, I've been around for years, same moniker, no surprises. Everyone on this board knows me so no need for fancy introductions.
Magna is one of Jack Hershey's groupies. Not chief lieutenant No.1 groupie but still.
Outside of trying to sound so clever and glib (is that an English thing?), I'm not sure why you say that. In the same way that many people appreciate you bringing a trading method to the boards, I appreciate what Jack brings. As a matter of respect I let him know that, thank him for answering my questions, and taking the time to post. Like you, he's not obligated to say another word. And if that makes me a "groupie", so be it.
For those of you not yet familiar with Jack, first I say: lucky you. Then I'll tell you that he is a Guru of massive proportion. He talks in tongues and you can't understand a bloody word he says. .
Quite a number of people at ET appreciate Jack's posts, and his willingness to answer many questions. Is his writing style inaccessible to some? Could the concepts be expressed in a different way? I suppose so. Could Faulkner or T.S. Eliot be expressed clearer, in a different way? I suppose so, but
that's the way they express themselves. And while I'm not comparing Jack's writing skills with those masters, what it comes down to is that's the way Jack expresses himself. Take it or leave it. I don't begrudge him as it's obvious he's trying very hard to communicate important ideas about how to approach the market, culled from his many years of experience. Do some people get frustrated and shine him on because his writing style is difficult to easily grasp? Sure. If you don't think it's of any value, or it's too much work for you to try and understand him, then
put him on ignore. Simple as that. No need to be a total sod about it and whine all the time. No need for you to get off-topic in this thread and complain, once again, about Jack.
I'm such a warm and forgiving person that I'll let [Magna] stay! On parole so to speak.
Now isn't that special. I've been told some people start a thread and then somehow think they
own it, that it's
theirs. Contrary to that notion, here's how it really works around here (take it from a member of the Establishment).
All threads on ET belong to all members, and the main distinguishing characteristic of the person who started the thread is that they get the first post. After that,
everyone is welcome to post, even parolees. G'day mate.
