Daytrading- Big Picture and Volume Analysis

What's a CCV bar as opposed to a constant volume bar?

I have both TS and NT. Anyone know if NT constructs proper CVBs?

Constant Capped Volume Bar (CCVB)

If NT is Ninja Trader not Neo Tic then the volume panel is showing their vol bars as being constant capped.

FYI - Open ECry's charts are also constant volume in the way that prof is explaining.

Great, I know BF019 is as anal as I am about checking this out so now we have 3 that is verified.

Interesting SorL

I am not an NT user but I have started to look into it and CCVbar was the first thing that I tested

Buy/Sell Volume... presumably it should be the sum of both volumes at the bid plus at the ask, but assumptions are the mother of all f..kups in this game.

I wonder how NT treats these volumes

Ah, I posted the question to the NT guys and got a response (great service always over there).

orders that occur between the bid + ask do not get plotted on the buysellvolume histogram. That is what is happening there.

That explanation would then make the buysellvolume histogram inaccurate from a standpoint of volume bars.
Their volume bars would only be accurate if if encompasses all traded volume.
