I just saw this old notice on IB's site which should no longer apply since TSE introduced its new trading system, and with IB now a TSE member execution time should be under 1 second.
Notes:
- Due to the design of the TSE communications, there are tight limits on the data transmission rate to the exchange. This may result in slow response and acknowledgement times for new orders, modifications, cancellations, and execution reports. Delays can be as long as 8 seconds. IB is unable to control the transmission rates to the TSE.
Thanks - another old link which should be deleted. Now if they can make some reductions on trading rights fees per month, access fees (placement, modification and cancel of orders), and market data redistribution costs, they might have a shot a becoming competitive.
