17 Aug SCARY SLEEPING or whatever session

copper gold eur gbp - sleeping soundly
crude oil - suddenly woke up. unable to catch that signal

RTY ES YM - seems to be sleeping.
look at the chart ! heart beat approaching zero !!!


NQ - it is trying to sleep. heart beat approaching zero too?

You need a very powerful tweet or
high power defibrirllator to wake them up.

Not worth takeing risk to trade such market.



let me close my charting s/w and trading platforms.
then watch Netflix or whatever.

Simsci hangseng china A50 down
India Nifty broke record high.

what happened on 17 Aug Eur, US or rather scary sleepy session:
choopy spiky messy erratic markets.
markets heart beat almost zero.
Such situation is very rare.
Hope there will be powerful tweet or
high power defibrillator to wake them up.

OK. I wouldn't be touching any trading related things over the weekends.
Let me do other stuff.

The later afternoon NY session was filled with activity for ES. News hit that Xi and Trump planning a meeting to resolve trade wars.
How do you usually measure heartbeat of a market?
 
there are > 3 types of markets :

- trendy, organised market where market moves alot.

- choopy messy disorganised jerky spiky market where market hardly move.

- somewhere in between, 1/2 trendy 1/2 choopy market where market moves alot.

- ?!?!?


Identifying trendy market is straight forward.
very easy to earn money from such market.


Identifying choopy market is an art.
Because it is an art, people tries to make it scientific by putting more and more and more indicators.
It is difficult to describe what is choopy market in words.
Very easy to lose money trading such market. So better stay away.




the 1/2 trendy 1/2 choopy market is the most frustrating type.
Market moves alot but very difficult to earn money.
your entry price has to be good, and you have to enter early or
you will suffer loss after loss.
Again identifying such market might not be that straight forward.

yes. there was some movement towards end of US session.

how to measure heartbeat ? how to determine if market is choopy?
see my earlier posting an types of markets.
It is based on visual , on discretionary, on personal subjective judgement.

of course, there are times when market was choopy and I thought it was untradable but market moved alot.

great job hang seng ! It went up and down and up and down

India Nifty - keep on breaking its record high.

es ym nq - they are still sleeping
gold copper - seems to be sleeping

when will they wake up?

gold copper NQ already moved during Eur session.
seems like this is trend continuation from last Fri US session.

eur, gbp, crude oil, germany buxl -
seems like they are sleeping.
wonder when they will wake up.

sudden thought :
100% accuracy system by forex coach which I attended years ago.
Perhaps I should attend his course again.
Good to learn how to sell fridge to the Eskimo.

what happened yesterday?
hang seng - very wide range. highly tradable.
gold and copper - quite tradable
hmmm. those who traded ES YM probably find living rather challenging.
rty NQ - quite tradable.
usdcnh - small day range
ZB was up

aud policy news coming up.
but aud could be immune to news.

something happening to eur during yesterday early US and today asian session?
Those news reporters must be sleeping.

yesterday Italy BTP, crude oil, Russell 2000, eur gbp long blue candle.

NQ just went up.

futures that are currently sleeping or virtuallly no pulse :
eur gbp aud oil gold copper


hmmmm. doesn't look promising.
anyway will monitor for an hour or so.
If market continues to sleep, then I will stop trading.

seems like market is waiting for powerful tweet, major event, or defibrillator, fed meeting or whatever.
