Day traders, what's your trading time?

Here is a question to day traders, what's your usual trading time? I usually skip the first 30 minutes to get a clear picture of today's market, I also don't open new positions in the last one of two hours so that I don't have to close a position in a rush.

But on the other hand, the high volatility in the first hour should be the golden time for day traders, I will very probably use it more in the future as I become more experienced.

Occasionally I trade in the pre-open time, mostly I go long the weakest stock in my watch list and close it in pre-open time too.

What about you?
 
Im new to trading so i dont know if my info is of much help. but i do like the beginning 1 to 2 hours of trading. People have said that the last hour is also very volatile but i dont see much volume at that time. I also love to short stocks when theyve reached a theri plateau and can be seen as topping out. So in order for me to short under those conditions its usually around 1 or 2 pm. I also dont get into trading at the start of the bell but like yourself wait for atleast 10 mins or more to begin to even think about it.

Thanks for sharing, and it's very impressive that you as a new trader love to short. I just couldn't get used to going short and only go long at the moment, I have been thinking about forcing myself to go short once per day.

Yes, you are absolutely right. As a new trader doing everything alone, I want to know how other day traders are doing things in many aspects, to know the options, to open my eyes, no necessarily to follow their steps.
 
Backtest your trade method and let the results determine for you when is the best time for you to trade. Understandable, the best time for you to trade may not correlate with when you're actually available to trade. Yet, if you're only available to trade when its not suitable for your trade method...you'll need to make a decision to either stop trading or make changes in your schedule so that you're available to trade when you're most likely to be profitable.
