Day traders: How often do you do nothing all day?

My trading is hectic around 10-12. then it's like watching paint dry (sitting on your hands). i usually just set my stop and leave, checking every so often.

if i don't get any good setups then i take mediocre ones and usually lose money (i should be fishing instead).

some of the time i don't find a lot of gappers for my watchlist so i'll go all morning without a trade for a day or two. this is b/c i need more sources before and after the market opens (workin' on it..)

goodluck,
dan.

p.s. i don't trade afternoons.

There's a bull market everyday, one example is to look for a good stock with big down on previous days. Chances are good that it's going to go up.

lol

If your signals just aren't coming together, better to sit out than to take a weak trade just for the sake of trading.

How often does this happen to you, if ever? What's the longest run of zero-trade days you've seen?

It depends, if you're a momo trader then most of the week is spent waiting for those signals or it should be. That's the discipline. :D

Day trading is a losing expectation game. I recommend not daytrading and then you won't have this situation.

I guess all the money I've made day trading in the last 6 years was for nothing?

Move along little troll.
