How to trade the US session when the Fed makes a rate decision and has a press conference?

Don't trade it;
The market will most likely move in a choppy manner.
The chances of losing $$$ are high.
I used to wake up in the middle of the night to trade it.


Trade the next Asian and European sessions.
By then, Asians and Europeans would have clear minds.
And they would move the market decisively & smoothly.
The chances of earning $$$ are high.

Asian session - now it is extremely quiet.
For such a market,
I will trade for a shorter duration.
And I'd do other things.


Coming European session - The market will most likely be dead.
In fact, it has been dead for many days already.



Russell 2000.
ES NQ might move during the European session and rarely move during the Asian session.
You have to use the smaller size volume charts during the European session.
I don't trade Russell 2000 during the European session
as the volume is too low.

Very good observation.

I remembered vividly what happened in those few seconds of the trade.

I should/could have entered at the time you hilited.
I was hesitating as the price was moving horizontally (between 920.0 & 919.5)
[that's why you drew that resistance line].

When the price moved horizontally,
the price could come down before it would continue its upward journey.
or the price could come down and down and down,
or the price could just simply continue its upward journey.

That's why I entered a second or two later.
