DAX spread and market depth

I have not been trading this week due to being sick. Perfect timing, isn't it. :(

I just logged in and so that DAX market depth basically disappeared. The book has around 10 or less contracts on first 5 levels and spread jumps between 3-10 ticks.

Has it been like this all week? Or is it just in the US afternoon only?

I still did not trade today, but got up earlier to observe DAX, and the book is definitely thinner and spread is much wider than usual.

On the flip side, FESX is more volatile and now tradable for me, so unless DAX goes back to normal, I will switch to Euro Stoxx.

I saw the similar market behavior back in January when SocGen Kerviel things was happening, but I never made the switch because DAX became normal within 1 week.
