Quote from Pa(b)st Prime:
Agree 1000%. This is a GOLDEN opp for an articulate, right thinking member of the House to assert himself in the national consciousness by a few taking risks. If I'd been Wison-and his call out is EXACTLY something I'd do-I would have refused to apologize and if anything I would've thrown additional gasoline on the fire. How would this play with our guys AAA, "I'm sorry for the time and place of my remark but it's difficult for me as an American to keep my emotions in check when I see an American President-a dedicated pro-abortionist and socialist- take this great nation down the same road as Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez." Cripes, you'd raise a million in one day.
Does anyone in their right mind believe that a president whose devotion to late term abortion-a view far left of the mainstream-would allow a million dollars in public funds to be spent saving the life of an 80 year old suffering from diabetes? Yes there will be rationing and Palin called it what it is:death panels. Get used to it. White, elderly taxpayers who labored decades making this country great will subsidize through non-treatment illegals, shines, homos with aids, anyone who happens to be a leftist constituent.
And Obama cost me a $5 bet with my left-wing neighbor.
I predicted, given his speech was a virtually unprecedented-a non war declaration, non SOU to a joint session of Congress- that he'd at least pay respects to the brave U.S. troops dying in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not a word.
As usual, you and I are on the same page. For the life of me, I do not understand the republican rope-a-dope strategy. If they had attacked Obama relentlessly during the campagin as a socialist and radical, they would have been positioned to oppose his plans as the jaw-dropping descent into socialism they are.
Now they sit there quietly while he calls them liars and race to the media to denounce the one republican who stood up for them.
